Document Tools

Blogging: I know how to use Blogger and WordPress.

Calibre: I use this software to convert texts into e-book formats such as EPUB, LIT, MOBI, and PDF. These files are acceptable types for Nook, Kindle, and other e-readers.

gPDFText Ebook Editor: This tool, like LibreOffice Draw, permits me to open PDF files and edit the content.

Gscan2pdf: I pull apart PDFs with the software to combine the documents with image files and to convert PDFs into image files or other file types such as OCR.

LibreOffice Draw and LibreOffice Impress: These vector graphic and slide show applications are useful for preparing slides or PDFs. I can also transform documents into image files and HTML formats with the software.

LibreOffice Writer: I use this to create and manage documents including Microsoft Word documents and PDFs. LibreOffice Writer can import Microsoft Word files such as .docx and export in MS Word formats.

Sigil: This is an e-pub creation tool. I use this to create books with headings and Table of Contents (TOC).

Productivity Tools

Freeplane: This is a mind-mapping tool I use to organize thoughts for  projects.

GnoTime Project Management Tool: I invoice services with the time-tracking software.

Graphic Tools

The GIMP: This graphic manipulation software is the open source equivalent of Photoshop. I size and edit graphics with the application. I also make my own GIMP pattern (.pat) and GIMP brushes (.gbr) files that are equivalent to Photoshop patterns and brushes (.abr). I can install  these and filter plug-ins (.scm) at the computer root level.

Audio Tools
Audacity: I use this to record, edit and mix sound.

Gespeaker: I create  mechanically rendered audio books with this tool. I edit the audio books with Audacity.

Programming Tools

KompoZer: I  use this editor to create basic HTML files and work with CSS.

Linux: I am able, in addition to my skills with publishing software, to administer a Linux/Ubuntu distribution on a basic level. I use both terminal commands and GUI interface packages.
